About
Ideas were explored about space that could invoke a sense of history & dependability without the use of historic furniture pieces. The intention was to create an architectural space with a highly integrated aesthetic.

Resolution
To achieve a sense of timeless dependability, solid materials were worked according to older carpentry & furniture-building principles. Physical jointing methods were utilised rather than glues & veneers. 'Off the shelf' fittings were avoided in favour of integrated handles & customised fittings, including lighting.
Outcome
The space was treated as an internal, inverted landscape, creating an 'horizon line' through shelving & trims. This line integrates wall planes & cabinet items to form a visually-linked whole.

The outcome is a warm, peaceful & timeless space integral to how this barrister practises family law.
